ACFE Membership Structure

The ACFE International and the local Chapter offers different participation categories to meet the resources, needs and objectives of our members.  It is important to note that your local and ACFE status must correspond. To enjoy the full range of benefits members are encouraged to take membership on both the local and international levels. We recommend the following route to Certification:

ACFE SA Chapter Categories
Affiliate Membership: Local membership only
Affiliates of the Chapter are those, regardless of their field of endeavor or experience, who desire to align themselves with the ACFE Chapter.  Affiliates should have an intellectual interest in the field of fraud examination and a desire to be part of the fight against fraud and white-collar crime.
       
Student Affiliate: Local membership only
Entry level discounted membership granted to those who wish to become involved on local level but are still students and do not have full time employment. Applicants must be currently enrolled in a recognized college or university-level program and will be required to provide proof of enrolment
       
Associate Membership: ACFE Associate International Level Required.

Limited to individuals currently registered as Associates with the ACFE at International level. Associate Members will be granted Chapter voting rights and the right to hold certain Chapter offices under the terms of the ACFE SA Constitution.

       
Full Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) Membership of the SA Chapter
Limited to individuals who are current CFE Member at International level. Certified Fraud Examiners may hold any Chapter office and have full voting rights.
       
Corporate Membership:  
Corporate sponsored membership of the local chapter enables Private and Public Sector to enjoy the benefits and opportunities offered on the local level in respect of networking and training at a reduced rate. A single annual corporate membership fee is paid to the local chapter, which entitles the registration of any number of employees at no additional costs. Individuals registered under Corporate membership are entitled to the same benefits as Affiliate members.
       
ACFE International Categories
Associate:  
Open to individuals interested in the prevention, detection and deterrence of fraud and fraud-related activities. If you are a professional interested in learning more about fighting fraud, Associate membership with the ACFE provides you with the knowledge, resources and training you need.
       
Educator Associate:  
Open to individuals who are employed by an institution of higher learning, as an educator, as primary means of employment. Educator Associates qualify for discounted participation in some ACFE International events and programmes.
       
Student Associate:

Open to undergraduate students enrolled in 9 semester hours (or equivalent*), or graduate students enrolled in 6 semester hours (or equivalent*) in an accredited college or university. Student applicants may not apply online. Students must fax or mail their application along with proof of current enrollment.

   
Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE)
Open to current members of the ACFE International interested in positioning themselves as leaders in the prevention, detection and deterrence of fraud. The CFE is a globally preferred credential that continues to gain momentum as a symbol of quality in the anti-fraud profession.
